NIBF Is Breaking The Barriers To Promote A Healthy Reading Culture In Nigeria

There’s a popular joke which says, if you want to deceive a Nigerian, simply give him/her a document form to read. While this might be funny, it is not entirely true. There are a group of knowledge-thirsty Nigerians who love to read and learn and The Nigerian Book Fair Trust has created a platform to encourage the acquisition and transmission of knowledge.

The Nigerian Book Fair Trust promotes book trade through its annual Nigeria International Book Fair (NIBF). It is Africa’s second largest international book fair and the first of its kind in Nigeria, a position earned through consistency and persistence. NIBF’s goal is to provide books and other learning materials at cheaper rates within and outside Nigeria to book lovers and seekers of knowledge. The NIBF comes up in every second week of May every year. Nigeria International Book Fair is a well-packaged, well-organised, well-attended and the most consistent book event in Africa today. NIBF has grown to become the toast of the major book industry stakeholders around the world. It is the only international book fair in Nigeria and it attracts a large number of the Nigerian population.

The last NIBF held from Monday, May 7 to Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Jelili Adebisi Omotola Hall (Formerly Multipurpose Hall), University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos state. This was just the kind of project City Marketing executes. We launched our marketing campaign by distributing flyers to create awareness and generate buzz for the annual international book fair.
